I did a random act of kindness at Wal Mart the other day. A lady in a wheelchair was shopping and I unloaded her cart at the register. Also I put her bags in the cart and made the cashier call for someone to help her load them in her car.

I could have put them in the car for her but I was trying to prove a point that Wal Mart should have carry out service for people who need it. They can pay those greeters to stand there and do nothing, so why not pay some people to do something the customers actually need?

I volunteered to helkp with the youth group without anyone being asked to do so, I love to greet the elderly, who look like they could use a smile sent their way, I pick up toys, etc that children have dropped in a store and hand it back to the harried mom, I help people who have knocked over a display in a store to put it all back as quickly as possible, I give my children's unused or slightly used items to friends, when I know it is something that they will probably really like without expecting them to ever give it back, I listen to people without thinking about what my response should be just so they can get it all out, etc. I love to see a person's face when you've done something small that won't take more than five extra minutes out of your day, but no one else will do for them! A smile is worth more than a thousand words, that is all I do it for, I don't care if they say thank you or not as long as it has reminded them that they are worthy of a little help and extra kindness! Hope this has helped your study! Merry Christmas!

I do random acts of kindness all the time, but last Thanksgiving was the best and most recent.

There is this woman, she just lost her home like three days before Thanksgiving. She was living under this little canopy over some picnic tables at the park down the street from me. A lot of people took her over some pillows and blankets.

On Thanksgiving I packed a plate full of food (turkey, duck, stuffing, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cheese, the works) and took it down to her. We sat in my warm car for like 3 hours talking while she ate. She is a really nice lady.

Afterwards one of my friends (who also lives down the block) asked her to come and stay with him and his family for the night. She could eat, have a hot shower, and a nice place to sleep. It was the nicest thing I've ever seen anyone do.

Its nice to know that there is still some good in the world.

Yes, many of us do. Most of us try to do so in a way that the person receiving the gift doesn't know where it came from. I personally could care less for the "oh, thank you so much...." (except from kids - I have a soft spot there). It's the doing makes me feel good, not the being thanked. That's why, with me at least, you will never "see" the act.

I don't do anything big that is unusual or extremely heroic. If I see an old lady trying to carry groceries out to her car, I'll help. If I see someone drop something, I'll pick it up for them. If I see someone with something on top of their car, I'll honk and point. If I see a girl with lipstick on her teeth, I'll tell her.
None of those things are remarkable, but it's shocking how many people will actually not bother to do any of those things for their fellow men.

Yes, I have and sometimes you do it and don't realize that you have, the simplest things can qualify as an act of kindness like finding a phone number for someone or directing them in the right direction if they are lost.

I do. I give to the homeless that I see in the streets. I give change back to cashiers who give me too much money. I give little children at my kid's martial arts school treats, when their parents were busy or had not picked them up.

I always try to if I see an opportunity but not so blatantly that anyone will notice.
