Please only answer this if you know for sure from recent traveling (with makeup) experience :) I'm not sure which make-up needs to go in the bag and which does not. I thought somewhere on the TSA site I read that all make-up had to go in the bag...but I feel like that's not correct. Do you know if it's just liquid make-up or do powers/eyeshadows have to go in the bag as well.

Thanks in advance!!! I just cannot travel without my makeup!

I just got back from London on Dec 6 and it is only liquid make-up. Your best bet would be to put liquids you won't need on the flight (make-up remover, extra lip gloss, foundation, etc...) in your check baggage (then you don't have to put it in a baggie). You can only bring enough liquids to fit into an average size zip lock bag, the rest will have to be left behind so remember that when packing. Do not bring anything over a litre even if its half full they wont let you bring it on board.
Good luck. I hope this helps.

Just to not take any chances, I put all of my make-up into my checked baggage.

3 –1–1 for carry-ons = 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure.

Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed screening.

Be prepared. Each time TSA searches a carry-on it slows down the line. Practicing 3-1-1 will ensure a faster and easier checkpoint experience.

3-1-1 is for short trips. If in doubt, put your liquids in checked luggage.

Declare larger liquids. Prescription medications, baby formula and milk are allowed in quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.

Hi, I just traveled a week ago. Any liquids had to be in the baggy, chapstick/make-up was okay. And all liquids need to be less than 3 oz.
Hope this helped :o)

I was told at SFO to put anything I was carrying from chapstick to lip gloss, liquid make-up in a plastic bag. On my return trip I just put in my checked bag. It was so much easier and I didn't have to worry about it.

check out tsa.gov website and click on what to bring link.
