usually get a pain in my lower back when I drink...Not so much my lower back as the organ down there...I have had a rough time lately and have easily been having ten beers a night for about 3 weeks. My lower back pain is constant...What damage am I doing?

Well first of all, don't drink so much! anything more than 5 drinks is considered binge drinking, and the fact that your in pain but you've continued drinking is NOT a good sign. Secondly, I had the same pain as you due to not drinking enough WATER. Drinking so much and so consistently has more than likely dehydrated you. Take a major break from drinking, and make sure (if you need to) you build a support system :o)

It's your liver genius! Crying out for you to stop. My husband has the same problem. If he drinks too much, his back hurts all night and he ends up snoring until the afternoon.

Limit yourself to a drink or two, instead of 10.

If you're drinking to get drunk, maybe you need help. But there are better ways to get wasted than drinking 10 beers. I just drink a couple of shots of liquor instead of drinking a whole glass of liquid.

Im not an expert but most of my family has died from years of drinking and drug use. It could be your liver, kidneys or any number of things. Your best bet would be to slow down on the drinking and talk to your doctor, His advise would be far better than anything you can find here. Good Luck and Merry Christmas

Well all alcohol dehydrates you so it could be causing kidney damage or pain from stones. Kidney stones could form if you have really concentrated urine. Drink more water and less EtOH and see if the problem corrects its self. If there arwe kidney stones they may have to pass before the problem gets better.

You mean besides the fact that you are an alcoholic? Sounds to me you are killing your liver and kidneys. If you can't stop drinking, you need help immediately. Please go to the hospital and get detoxed. They can test or kidneys and liver. Then get into a rehab program. AA will also help you.

Do you self a favor and instead of drinking 10 beers a day try ten glasses of water and throw in a few glasses of cranberry juice.

Stop drinking.

10 beers a night for three weeks straight?!?!?! Its a wonder your head doesn't hurt more than your back.

I am guessing your kidneys. Don't go to alcohol if you are having problmes.. Start working out, go for a run. This will make you feel better and handle your situation better.
