I personally can't stand Alpha-males. I avoid them like the plauge. Guys who think they are "all-that" and are arrogant and vain have absolutely NO appeal to me. Either do guys that fight.
I always looked for the quirky, funny, cute-in-a-kind-of-dorky-way guys. I married one and couldn't be happier. My husband is a beta, but that doesn't mean he isn't a good lover! Beta's are eager to please.........:) And he can be a rough-and tumble Alpha-lover if I want him to.
Haven't you ever seen "Revenge of the Nerds?" lol When she asks him why he is so good in bed he says "All jocks think about is sports. All nerds think about is sex." lol

Two forces are at work.
Females are drawn to the alpha male through instinct.
Alpha males work to maintain their dominance of the herd, pride, etc. and this includes not allowing other males to mate with females.

well, then when they get fat and ugly, and the beta turns into an alpha, while the alpha returns to their beta selves, the beta-turned alpha will no longer need the use of such female, except for some Uh AHH

sometimes not all the time i mean i would go for either one but i think i would pick the beta lol i dont know i like em both but like the gorilla the female would take which ever one wins the fight but in humans usually it really doesnt matter for like me i dont care much about fighting i would take the on that would work out for me really i go for personality but i also like guys that are strong lol i dont like em stronger than me though because if i got raped then i would want to be stronger to fight em off me lol

Generally speaking, they're drawn to the strongest influence and a man who "dominates the scene." However, that can be the man with the greatest sense of humor who's not afraid of what people think, or anything else.

They try for them but if they're desperate and ugly like me they'll settle for as u call it the beta males because no one else will have them.

No scientific information handy, but casual observation supports this theory. Girls say they want nice guys but they have sex with the aggressive a**holes. Then they complain they can't find a nice guy.

You see... there's regular beta males, and master beta males... they mostly avoid the second kind.

I'd say it depends on where they are in life. Many women forgo the exciting "bad-boy" for stability and good providers. I haven't found one yet, but they are out there!! Right?!? Please tell me I'm right...
