It is definitely a top 20, but the best of all? I don't think so. It is probably Tennessee Williams most simpathetic plays. All four characters are clearly written. You see them all very deeply within their conscience much clearer than his other plays. I would say Orpheus Decending and A Street Car Named Desire are a close second for finding this depth.

Yes, it is not one of the best plays ever written. It's a very good play and one of Williams's best, but compared to some of his other work and that of other writers, it's not "one of the best." Up against the best of Shakespeare, Chekhov, O'Neill, Shaw, or Beckett, it comes in at a very low ranking.
