For lunch, they eat sandwiches or bread and cheese and fruit, or soup, yoghurt, or whatever. Kids in France eat much like American kids do. For dinner, they eat a lot of chicken, fish, bread, cheese, vegetables, fruits, stew, soup, etc. Pretty typical stuff on a normal day-to-day basis. For fancier occasions, though, the fare gets more ethnic (or cultural) and can include escargot (snails), frog legs, duck, beef, souffle, etc. And of course, LOTS of wine!

Actually, according to the news lately, they are changing their eating habits and not eating NEARLY as well as they used to. French food was always famous for being delicious and really not too fattening because they do not traditionally eat large portions. But that is changing and they are stopping at McDonald's as much as Americans now. And they are getting more obese than they ever have in the past. Too bad.

I don't really think this was a prejudiced question.... he just asked what french people eat.
I don't really know the answer, but any time I have been in french cultures, I always got their hamburgers. There's a fried egg on top... delicious!!!!

lunch would be a baguette, some cheese, a little wine, and fruit.
Dinner would be some meat, potato, vegetables, wine, cheese, and fruit. Then a good coffee or after dinner drink.
