Hi Julie,
From what I can see here is that someone else caused some damage that they thought you were in some way connected with, took you to court and lost.
Your costs were awarded back to you by the court but you cannot get them back.
First of all, the person sueing you has lost and unless there are grounds for appeal then forget about it. It is over.
If you have difficulty recovering your costs then the next move is to report it to the court. The judge has made an order that has not been complied with. This is contempt of court. The plaintiff in this case cannot ignore what the court has ordered. You can ask the court to issue an enforcement order. This is something your solicitor should be doing.
Contact the CAB to find out the full position on recovering your costs from the plaintif.
If the person has very little money you will probably get about £2.00 a week if anything.
Good luck.

I have been given information for you: Holland has legalized and function been regulating prostitution for an prolonged time now. Hell, they also have a "featured woman" sitting of their save window. and you're perfect once you assert that this technique prevents abuse and monitors STDs. The police there hunt down the abusers like they hunt down murderers and pedophiles. additionally, they have legalized marijuana and regulates that stuff like we do right here with cigarettes and alcohol. And this, girls and boys, is what makes Holland have the backside crime expenses interior the international. the explanation why we have not accompanied this philosophy is by using the fact we predict of that prostitution and weed are undesirable (mmm'kay). we are caught in time with none danger of shifting forward. everyone see that IBM commercial some years returned with the corporation guy interior the organic background museum? He became there because of the fact he became nevertheless making use of a typewriter interior the previous due '90s. the comparable component will ensue to us if we don't progression forward.

I'm a law student. All I can say is that unless you can demonstrate some basic understanding as to how the English language is articulated, you will have no chance of running a business. Were I practicing, I would no more represent you than accept a defence brief from Hitler in a case brought by Israel.
We do not have interpreters who interpret from English into English!

I think that you would have to give a lot more detail then you have provided here.
Why not go and get some free legal advice? Most solicitor firms provide it, at least then you have spent anything or committed yourself to any course of action and you will understand where you stand a lot better.

if you won your case why are you paying let the guilty party pay.. let the barrister sue them for payment seeing as the judge awarded you cost against them ... your barrister should be repaying what you paid and suing the others for payment no longer your problem ....and if they are still asking for monies let them ... ignore and go back to court if you have to or want to sure they wont ... forget and use as learning curve ...

The system is far from perfect, really far! It seems that people who do the wrong get off and you are stuck with the bill. If people don't stand up and fight for their rights and now their rights, nine times out of ten, your gonna get screwed.

Here in the U.S., you can only recover attorney fees if the law provides for them. A lot actions do not allow the prevailing party to recover attorney fees.
