Preferably I will be able to get in on the internet, max £10 incl P&P. He loves useless crap - especially if it gives him an opportunity/idea to cause mischief. Any ideas? Please help - viable options only please!!!

I'd try places that sell novelties and mind puzzles and mind games on the net. Amazon is always a good place to start , as is buy.com and overstock. com.

The ten total with S & H may be hard, though, especially since you need it by Christmas, because you may have to pay for expidited shipping.

I'd get right on it, though or you might not be able to get it by Xmas. The website will say if they are still guaranteeing delivery by then.

Here in the states some places still are and most are if you pay for expidited post, but that can be 20.00 US or more no matter the item price.

Get him a gag gift.
He sounds like the type of person who has a spicy scenes of humor, and and imagination.
Some gift stores have ugly statues that say really stupid stuff on them, invisible ink, a magic show kit, anything fun. Anything for kids that you wouldn't dare get for a kid. Try the toy department at walmart, they're not too expensive.
But what ever you get him, put some serious thought into it, as he may see you as a high potential employee with a sense of humor and creativity.
Try to put yourself in his shoes and think like him.

You can get spy toys in the children's toy section. There is a gizmo that you can set and every time someone crosses it the alarm goes off. There is a lot of spy things that can cause mischief without hurting anyone and most cost under 10.00.
