put a drop of food coloring in the tank at night. if you find colored water in the bowl in the morning the flapper seal is bad. if you replace the flapper and it continues to run, the seat that the flapper seals against is bad. water will wear that out over the years of use. if you're handy shut off the water to the tank, flush the toilet, sponge out the tank, unbolt the tank, turn it over and undo the stand pipe/ flapper assembly and replace it. replace the fill valve assembly while you have it apart and the bolt kit for mounting the tank. you can get kits to do this at home improvement stores for under $40.00. to see if you can do this go to the home center and ask to see the items and instructions. then you can decide whether or not to get a plumber. good luck.

It is not unbalanced, just drop your water leveler 3 mm and you should be fine. What is actually happening is that the water flows slowly into the drain lifting your water leveler and requesting more water to fill the tank since it is not completely full. Once you drop your leveler the tank will think it is full because it no longer loses water to the excess drain pipe.

Much better then a slow gurgling sound! Most likely the valve that controls the water flow is making the noise as the water passes thru it. Try adjusting it all the way open. (usually behind the camode on the wall)

Logan_se has the main appropriate answer yet i'm unclear he's precise approximately cost and project. as long as you place interior the vertical ineffective ends interior the utmost portion of the circuit it extremely is noisy - which could prefer to do the trick. Eg. in case your bathing room is mains fed placed the 'air cushion' interior the loft the region the feed to the water tank is. you may decrease returned copper pipe extremely and cleanly with a pipe cutter and upload the 8 to 12 inch vertical pipe with 'push on' fittings. it extremely is a tee, the pipe and a end end. because of actuality the pipe is ineffective vertical is won't fill with water. The trapped air acts as a ask your self absorber to the water hammer. stable success.

COULD USE MORE INFO TO ANSWER, BUT COULD BE A NUMBER OF THINGS: THE TUBE IN THE OVERFLOW PIPE MAY BE BELOW THE WATER LINE JUST A LITTLE BIT, RAISE IT A LITTLE, THE FLAPPER MAY BE OLD AND NEED TO BE REPLACED, IF YOUR FINGERS GET BLACK WHEN YOU TOUCH IT, IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, IF YOU HAVE A FLUID MASTER THAT HAS BEEN THERE A NUMBER OF YEARS CHECK THE SEAL/DIAPHRAGM IN THE TOP THEY GET HARD AND MAY CAUSE WHAT YOU HEAR. IF YOU HAVE A BALL MAKE SURE THAT IT DOESN'T LEAK.

Years ago, I had the exact same problem with my toilet, but the problem was that the flapper valve in it was getting old and brittle. After I replaced the flapper valve on my toilet, I no longer had that problem.
