go to school and become someone successful...then you won't be the one cleaning up after people. I think that would be a better solution to your problem

I agree with you. I have never worked in a fast food place, but have alot of respect for you having to clean up after people. I always take my tray and put my stuff in the garbage. The only time I dont is if the lobby is in a big mess and the workers are standing around talking. Get to work

I clean up and give the table a quick wipe with a spare napkin.
Sometimes businesses go overboard on customer service. My parents tell me stories and I even remember some of this myself where if you acted out in a store, the owner or even other employees would straighten you out. More of the concept of 'it takes a village to raise a kid.'
That doesn't happen so much anymore and we're poorer off because of it. A manager should be able to step up and take a slightly parental role to say to a kid 'hey, that's not ok and if I see you in here with your parents I'll let them know what you did.' too many are uninvolved OR are afraid (if in certain neighborhoods) that the kid might take some retribution.
Sorry for you -- I'll be sure to clean up when I'm there. :)

There are people who clean up after themselves and then there are those who don't. Sorry, its just the way it is. That is why the "cleaning lobby person" is an assigned position at places like McDs.
I was in the Hospitality field for over 20 years. I have seen unbelievable things both in front of the house (with customers) and in back (with employees).
Welcome to the world of work! If it wasn't work, then it wouldn't be called "work," would it?
Since the kids were "customers" thats one thing, you ignor the implication, do your job, and pick it up for liability reasons; if it were a fellow employee, that would be another. Karma will get them back, one way or another.

America was founded on the Bible. Our buildings have scripture engraved on them. Most atheists do not want God's laws imposed on them. That is why we have such a great divide in this country. You probably have little respect for those who believe the Bible because you claim not to believe in God. Why do atheists think Christians have no rights to impose their beliefs in government and you do. Why can you speak against Christians but they can not speak out against same sex marriage. The thing is both sides can voice their ideas and neither has to accept the others but we should try to get along. The bottom line is there are moral laws and those who are opposed to God want no moral bounderies. Sodomy is and always will be wrong. Murder is and always will be wrong. God and His word will never change. Every person will die and meet their Creator some day. Only Jesus can help you and that is why these people tell you what they do. I don't respect your beliefs but you can believe whatever you want and so can I.

I completely agree with you. Unfortunately sometimes people think that if it is not theirs (like a rental car or a eating establishment) they can do as they please. Ownership makes people a lot more responsible and caring. I don't know why people have to make disgusting messes in public bathrooms or think it is funny to make someone clean up there pop that they split on purpose. Don't fret you won't be in this job forever and one day that boy who did that to you will have his turn being the butt of someones torment.
People may be disgusting at times but try to focus on the positives when bad things happen. Like your friends or a nice customer.

It might be your job to tidy up the dining room...but if people expect someone to bus the tables completely (like at a higher end restaurant) then LEAVE A TIP.
If you don't plan tipping, then have some respect for others and clean up your mess.
As for people making messes on purpose...it's too bad that their parents didn't teach them respect for themselves and others. It bodes ill for future generations.

I always clean up after myself. But I've also worked in fast food (Burger King, McDonalds and Rally's) and I can tell you that what you are complaining about is just simply the nature of the beast. Suck it up or get another job.

I would have to say I do not do that at all, I have much more manors and i care to much for people to treat them like that, even if I ever won tons of money on the lotto, and had people working for me, they would be treated like friends and family, never below me, they were slobs, I bet their mommies taught them to do that,
I always pick up after me
look at it this way, if you walked by a prison, and their were prisoner working outside, and they said stuff to you, would you take it to heart, or consider the source, poor mental types, so consider the source and who did it, poor mental types..
good luck

I feel your pain. My husband is retired and works at Mickey D's part time in the lobby and can sympathize with you. Some people act like they were brought up in a barn!
