I am a graphic design student and i would like some honest opinions on my work. The site is still being worked on but you can view myh temporary portfolio.Thank you

I am a Graphic Designer, The one thing that I can warn you about is copyright infrigment on your site. The thing you made for MTV for Pimp my Ride is against the law unless MTV hired you and gave you permission to use thier logo's, and the faces of there stars. You can't post that kind of stuff on the net, it is a violation of copywrite law. Other than that, there seems to be a huge jump in some of your work, some look like a "students" work, and some look very professional. So, either you need to get rid of the one's that don't look as nice, for example, "Save the Whales" or the "texas hold 'em book" because they are not illustrating your strengths. it makes it seem like you didn't make the rest of the examples on there and stole them from another source.... I hope that is untrue. Finally some of your wok is repetative, I only need to see one snowboard design, one of this and one of that,.....ect. Lastly why did you put a picture of your car in the portfolio....Did you design the sticker on the window? If so, nobody that is going to hire you will care, unless it is a sticker manufacturer.
So to sum up,
-Eliminate some of your weaker work from the site, it brings up questions of your integrity.
-One example for each type of design is usually perferred, or organize them in groups...i.e "Snow board graphics" and have that be it's own tab on your site.
-Get things that showcase copywrited images off your site

Was the jayhemdesigns site also done by you? It's really nice. The only gripe I have about that is that it gets a little difficult to manuever in the thumbnails because the sensitivity of the scrolling is a bit too much.
The Earthwatch institute site is very nice.
I think the problem with the i, Robot cover is that everything is blurry. Of course, that probably has to do with the fact that you couldn't find higher resolution images. Other than that, I think it looks fine, though I think that the box overall is too small to do what you wanted to the with the name of the movie and Will Smith. It would probably look better centered.
The Myspace Layouts are nice, but the first one's text is hard to read, making it seem messy. I think a different color would suit it well.
I really like the CD cover. I think that there could be a little more transparency on the first page of the insert so that the violin doesn't interfere with the text too much, but if I could get a printed copy, it would probably be good enough.
I think that you have a lot of good stuff going on here. I'm by no means anywhere close to a graphic designer, so you might take my comments with a grain of salt, but as a consumer that has to deal with that kind of stuff all the time, I think you have a really nice start.

I say to myself, "always like your work, but never be satisfied".
You use lots of grunge style I notice.
Which is alright by me and does look good.
In the picture where grunge style was not used there seemed to be a poor choice of color use.
When photo-editing can you blend different images in without using grunge to cover sharp edges etc.?
Have you heard of a photoshop battle?
If not you should look it up.
They are fun competitive and you expand your graphic design skills a lot.

I think it pretty cool and it does all look really professional. I like the use of colour and light in some of the photographic items.
The one thing I would say is that, although it does look good, you could perhaps make it more original and make it stand out from other people's work.
