My electricity bill came to £108 over 3 months. Is that alot? My boyfriend went a bit mental but I don't think it's that bad seeing as it is over 3 months and it gets dark early now. What do you pay for yours?

Oh I'm confused now! lol. Some people say it's average then others say it's expensive. I have a 3 storey house and I do washing alot because I have 2 small children. My boyfriend used to live alone and worked evenings and nights. I don't know if that makes a difference.

We used to pay quarterly where we used to live and it came to about £100 electric and £100 gas every 3 months. Think what you say is about right, especially for the winter and especially since the rise in gas and electric prices. We now pay weekly on a meter as we have just moved and we put about £10- £20 a week electricity on which is even more, although granted it would be a lot less without the heating on!

My current one this month is $125. Not sure how that converts. But it's pretty high here. I have an all electric unit, so using the heat in the winter is very costly. However my power bills on my old townhouse were close to $170 or $190 each month. It's just a trade off... be cold/hot, or pay for comfort... I'll pay for comfort!

In Texas for wind power, I pay on average about $200/ month. So you are getting 3 months for what I pay for 1 month.
And no, I do not live in a huge house, it is a small two bedroom bungalow.
The problem is air conditioning. When it is about 34 degrees C all summer long with humidity of 99%, you have to run the AC all the time or your house will mold up. In the winter my bill is less than half of this.
For August my bill was $450.00

My most recent was £78.50 for electricity. I live in a small 2-bedroom council flat, my central heating is gas. I've recently started turning off the TV, video, skybox and my computer and all its peripherals at the plug point each night and my bill seems to have gone down slightly. Also, I pay for my gas and electricity on a fortnightly basis with a card at my local Post Office. I insisted that I pay this way as I never have huge bills coming in. At the moment I pay £20 per fortnight for electricity and £26 per fortnight for gas. Although I was in arrears at one point, I now seem to be catching up with it. When this happened in the past, I ended up having refunds of about £80 on each of the bills which I claimed from the provider and they sent me a cheque for the amount. My provider for both is SWALEC.

I pay almost £70 a month for my flat but that's all that I pay for as the flat is all electric, no gas. Have you thought much about energy efficiency? Try not to leave things like your TV on standby and switch off any lights in a room that you are not using. I've also heard that leaving an electric shower switched on is pretty costly.

At home we NEVER pay more than £80 every 3 months - there are 3 adults living at the same address. Instead of switching the heating on when we first get cold, we put a jumper on.

that's nothing mine was 230! But I do live in BFE, just remember to keep the heat in, wrap your windows, that helps. But the colder it gets the more your bill is going to go up, just how it is this time of year. Oh, and it also depends on how much room you're heating in the first place. And what kind of heat you have, like electric, propane, gas. that kinda thing

I pay about $125 US/month in the winter and $150-200 US/month in the summer for a 1500 sq ft home.
