I have the old one but the small piece with the prongs(the small strange shapped one) have bent so I cant use it. I got a new monitor and when I try to use the standard monitor plugin it gets the signal but no display. Please hep!!

Have you tested the new monitor on another computer? Maybe it's bad... Definitely get a new monitor cable and make sure it's securely attached. Also, confirm that your computer isn't currently set for a video mode that your new monitor doesn't support, especially if it's smaller than your old one.

You can fix by purhasing a new cable and matching plug...! The monitor or display of a computer is the primary user interface. . Buy a new cable making sure you have the right plugs. If it doesn't work update your monitor drivers.
