Adults have certain privileges that students don't. And the reverse is also true. For example, at my school students can wear jeans all the time, but teachers can wear them only on Fridays, and they have to wear a school t-shirt in order to do so.

Teachers use email for work-related things: emailing parents, other teachers in the building, teachers at other schools, professional listservs, etc. In fact, in my school district they block Yahoo and Hotmail on all computers, even teachers' computers. Teachers can use only the school district email.

Yes I do feel teachers should be able to e-mail whenever they like.Point and case:Once you have earned the right to become a teacher you will understand why teachers have a little more leverage let's put it this way they have the degree and worked for the privilege. That 's why there are teachers and students 1).teacher 2)student not saying they are any different as a human being but different in the sense that they worked for the privilege. If you were a teacher you would understand that comment.(smile)

It depends on the individual situation: some teachers prefer if students email them & some teachers don't. So as a result it makes sense that some teachers email their students while others don't. This situation is pretty common in college.

At my school teachers use the email to contact each other during the day. My school is spread out and there is not time between classes to walk to each others rooms. It also keeps our classes from being interrupted by phone calls. Also, when information needs to go to all of the staff, it is the easiest and fastest way to get it around.

Teachers need to email students as they often have information to tell.
Students could email the teachers anything which could end up causing trouble.

Good lord--grow up!!! Students have nothing remotely vital to email about during school hours. Teachers are constantly replying to parents emails, coordinating meeting for staff development, etc. Get a life.

Oh, my dear ... why do students believe that if a teacher does it, then the students should be able to do it as well? We have gone through many years of school and have earned the right to privileges above and beyond what you measly little brats have. Stop whining.

you know, there are some privileges that teachers do get to enjoy that students do not. and these days, a lot of teachers keep in touch with parents via email. i know i do. when do you want me to answer them, when i am at home with my families? am i supposed to take care of students 24/7? god, your sentence hurt my ears. god, do your school work and learn something.
and it is probably not at the university level because most professors do not travel with their laptops. some do, but it is most often used for lecture purposes.

They should and they do. I e-mail. I'm a teacher. And I never stopped any student of mine from doing so either.

of direction he will have the means to hint it. some way, some how he ought to confirm it became you. the only ingredient that ought to probable take place is; a million. you're making it particularly no longer ordinary to hint for example, you bounced it off international huge-huge-internet previously it reached his server 2. you used yet another e mail server you used a server it relatively is predicated for that form of stuff 3. you used a application which will redirect the server that it became despatched from you acquire a $1000 greenback application which will indirectly redirect it previously it left the server i think what i'm attempting to assert is that he ought to indirectly song it by making use of himself if no trickery became used or he ought to hire a consultant which will locate it out at last, it ought to take him longer.
