I would stay away from lamp shades....but a simple black dress would do....if you're female, I'd still wear the black dress

Definitely get all dressed up formally if you possible can. I did at my work Christmas party, even though a lot of others showed up in jeans.I wore a lacey/ dressy tube top with a really nice skirt. You might also wear dress pants with a fancy top if you don't want to go all out, though. Whatever you're comfortable in. I just wanted to dress up because I'm in pants & casual stuff all the time- so I needed a fun change + I was happy I got all the compliments!

Today most people wear what they want to parties, usually everything from jeans to formal attire at the very same party. However some parties may have a theme, like being the best dressed, etc. It would be acceptable to check with the host who has invited you to the party. ........ Enjoy

wear a nice red dress with ruffled bottom and at about knee length. wear some nice christmas earings and leave your hair down if it is at shoulder length. If it is any longer put it up in a nice bun and carry a small purse. With a dress like this you dont wan to carry too big of a purse becuase it will attract all the attention adn no one will notice your dress. so carry a petite black or red handbag(or whatever color you like). With this yu will be the center of attention at any party!

Depends on if it is a formal party or what...but I think a nice dress would be good and maybe like a christmas pin or something

You can get dress-up versions of just about any type of clothes. The difference is the fabric! Wear something shiny, satiny, velvety, glittery! Add some special jewelry and you'll be radiant.

I would go with a little black skirt about mid thigh, so you can sit down with a nice holiday sweater and some black stockings and 4" black pumps maybe add gold anklet.
