I had a 10cm cyst on mine during pregnancy and was told that I would have to be operated on to have it removed. I experienced all of that, however, as mentioned, I was pregnant. The cyst went away on it's own, however, I was told that it was very minor surgery and everything should still remain in working order even with just one ovary so please don't worry. I think that they can do it as keyhole surgey via the bellybutton so that it doesn't even leave much of a scar!

I feel your pain. I just got diagnosed with an ovarian cyst myself. I had to be carried from work to the ER because it was so bad. Mine is not 6cm yet, only 3. I'm currently trying a new birth control to see if it will help, but if it's doesn't, I have to have surgery in January. From everyone I've talked to and read (and i've been doing alot of research, because this is an awful pain) the surgery is really not that bad. There is only a small inscision, and most people heal in just a week or so. You only have to avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting. Best of luck to you, I know the pain you're going though. I hope you can have a Merry Christmas, and find other things to be thankful for.

I had cysts on ovary & in womb that they were going to remove but it burst & disappeared before i was admitted. If you are still wanting to add to/start a family it is possible to get pregnant with one ovary but can take a lot longer. This kind of surgery can sometimes be done as keyhole surgery in which case its not bad at all. However, I did have a fallopian tube removed & the op & recovery were similar to a caesarian. Hope this helps

I've had this op 4 times, ended up having the ovary removed and a fallopium tube. They can either do it by key hole or they can cut you just below your bikini line ( I had the latter) its the same as having a C section or hystorectomy - about 6 weeks recovery, depending on person. You'll be fine. Its called a Cystectomy. I was 4 months pregnant the last one I had. Daughter now 18.

I had a hystectomy 2 years ago. It was not really all that
painful. The worst pain I had was the first 2 days in the
hospital, when I tried to get out of the hospital bed for the
first time by myself. All your stomach muscles get
affected and you have to use your arms for support.
I had 27 stitches and could not drive for 3 weeks, but
all in all, it was not that painful. If your dr. tells you
to have surgery, be positive and you will be just fine.

I was in a lot of pain and had it removed as an emergency, so I felt so much better afterwards.
I had full surgery but they will always try keyhole first. I found the anaesthetic harder to recover from as I was knackered!
I had 10 weeks off work.
It will be fine and you will feel so much better.

Hi, I didnt have a cyct that big but u shouldnt have to have it removed. There are several things that can be done. Do you know if its infected or such? There is medicine they can give you and there is surgery but very minor to remove the cyct depending on the type.

i wager this is conceivable that you're prepared to sense them, in the journey that they were large adequate and also you knew what you've been feeling for. yet, there is not any thanks to allure to close for constructive without seeing your wellbeing care specialist. He can do a pelvic exam in the workplace and could be able to inform in the journey that they are large adequate, yet, sure, you'll want an ultrasound to verify the prognosis. i have worked for a gynecologist for 5 years so we see this each of the time. Make an appointment. Get it regarded at because if one in all them ruptures, the flaws may be intense. reliable success!
