A good example is like when you save a project done with Photoshop as a jpg or gif file so that you can modify or open the file any where else. This time its for my resume and the program I am using is WordPerfect. The file needs to be able to open, modify or print through another program such as Microsoft Word. Please help, thank you

When you choose "Save As...", there should be a drop-box on the bottom of the save dialog box. By default, it is set to .wpd. Click the arrow button to see more options. One should be Microsoft Word, or .doc. That's the one that you should select.

Most people have microsoft word in industry , offices, and homes. Word Perfect used to be the same, in the late 80s to the 90s but was replaced by MWord.
Why dont you use text then. (.txt) You might lose formatting of the fonts but at least it should be readable.
Use whatever program everybody else in your group uses, I think the newer versions of Wperfect can save files as microsoft word files also. Check the various types of files your program will allow you to use. Maybe there is word in them.

OpenOffice, which is a FREE download. I've used it to change WPD files to Word format. Vice-versa shouldn't be a problem.
