Alcoholics usually have "addictive personalities" and coffee is much less destructive and socially acceptable. Most people won't arrange an intervention for you if you drink 8 cups of coffee a day. Many AA groups have social meetings at coffee shops, if you can't hang out at a bar, a coffee shop is a very good alternative.

For a caffeine buzz I guess. I drink a lot of coffee, but have never been an alcoholic. I don't have the attention span to be addicted to anything but my husband and son. lol

They gotta have a drink in their hands while at the meetings. I don't drink coffee but always had a Pepsi in my hands at the meetings.

i imagine it comes right down to particular human beings having addictive personalities. maximum those who've an addiciton commerce off one dependancy for yet another which for sure is indicitive of that personality form. it ought to't be about the buzz that espresso promises, yet more desirable about the alternative of alcohol with an addiciton to a special substance.
