Ok...here is an update: I am almost 39 weeks, I had my membranes stripped monday ( I was 2-3 cm and about 80% effaced). I lost my mucous plug Wednesday. I haven't really been having any pains...since last night I have been getting like a sharp pain down there(right below the pooch)...I'v had it for the past month though on and off. Do you think labor is soon or do you think I have a little ways to go? What's your experience?

well since you stated that you lost your mucus plug wed. was it clear or a bloody show? if it was clear you could hang out about another week, but if you had a bloody show then all bets are off you could go into full blown labor at anytime you will know that if your water breaks I know you are at the stage of pregnancy that you just want this baby out!

Honey - I know how you feel, but no one can tell you for sure! I know you are dying to hear a definate time frame, but it doesn't exist. I was the same way, but you just have to relax. Yah right!!! Everyone is different, some people get stripped and labor immediately, others walk around for 2 weeks like that. Sorry!

I need to know if you had droped. They say if you can fit two hands between the top of your belly and the boobs they u are close. Walk more if you want to go into lador. And call you docter if you start getting lots more back pain around this time. It could be back labor. THat is what happened to me. But you dont have long you have had all the signs

Those sharp pains could be some contractions.. you said they come and go. Try to time them and see if they are regular. If its your first baby, it could be long. You have to wait until they start hurting.
Also, if you go in the tub , do they stop? If they stop, its falls labor, if its the same, then it could be.
What you have to check is if the pain is constant. I would recommand to go to the hospital if its constant.
Any signs of bleeding (small or alot) is a change in your cervix. Since you are already 2-3cm, don't wait to much.
AAlso, if you have any signs of leakadge, I would recommand to go to the hospital.

Hi, The pain ur describing is what i was feeling when I asked the doctor if i could go to the washroom and she checked me and said call the doctor shes complete. I went to hospital not even having contractions but had bloody show. You could be on ur way to full labor right now. Is this ur first pregnancy?

Sounds like braxton hicks contractions, you can loose your mucus plug up to two weeks before going into labor. It sounds like you are getting close. Has the baby dropped fully yet? That is usually a good sign of impending labor. Good Luck!

Labor didn't feel like anything I had ever felt before. I "nested" the night before and cleaned my entire house from top to bottom. I went into labor the next night while I was doing all of the laundry. I got it almost all done except one load of towels. You will go soon.

I misplaced my mucous plug approximately every week earlier than I went into hard work. But then the morning I went into hard work, I used to be having like fuel cramps in my belly & used the restroom & while I wiped I noticed pinkish stuff on the bathroom paper & a bit of blood. I went proper to the health facility & used to be three-four cm dilated & had my daughter that night time. So it would imply quickly! Good success. :)

that pain was my son's hand and arm pushing down. my water broke the same day that my doc strippes my membranes. labor sounds like it is definitely close. good Luck.

It could go either way dear everyone is different. Just try to stay as active as possible to help speed things up a little
