There are a lot of job opportunities in the Houston, Texas area. Houston is on a building boom. Check the Houston Chronicle for further info. Log on to the Houston Chronicle, and look for openings in the trade section. Most of the ads. will appear on this Sunday's paper. Does your husband have a background in Computer Aided Design? He might want to check this out also.

I don't know where you're located but if your husband is an estimator he needs to work for a sizable contractor. Typically in metro areas. Go to the link below, and input "electrical estimator" in the indeed search box, and it should give you all posted jobs in your area.
If you don't find anything there, have your husband write up a sales e-mail (i.e. I'm an Electrical Estimator looking for ......etc) and send it to all listed contractors within your range. When I had my company I used to get these all the time. For large contractors it's financially advantageous to hire this way, cause it's cheaper to running an ad.
If he's willing to work part-time or a contract position he may find something quicker.
Good luck & happy holidays!

I'm a ticketed electrician. My boss charges me out at $70 an hour here. Yes, you can get some old retired guy to work for you for half of that. Your best bet, is to find an electrician who can do it on the side after hours. I do a lot of work that way. Sounds like you might have a bad breaker or a loose connection. There should be a disconnect switch somewhere close to the A/C unit, you might want to look at that. Often rodents like rats and squirrels chew through wires as well. Your garage plugs should be on a separate breaker. To reset breakers often they need to first be pushed all the way in the off position first and then on. Sometimes they look like they are on, but you can feel it with your fingers they are actually tripped. Best of luck!
