i think those type stereotypes reflect teen views, and it is done more in the teen years,,,,,, it only reflects what the person dresses like/outwards acts like/ interest you can see,,,,,,,,, as you move on to adulthood, you will find that many people share many common interest and personality traits,,,, you wont stereotype groups as much,,,,,,, in adulthood the stereotypes are still based often on appearance,, but its more racial/wealth/age etc

They say that one makes up there mind on first impressions within five seconds of meeting someone.
Stereotyping is human nature. Since we are rather open people and know all sorts of people this does not tend to intimidate us. We have a older teenager who is doing the goth thing. If this is what floats his boat.
First impressions of Mr. is a long haired hippie. I love my long haired hippie lol! He laughs at these young kids who think piercings and tats are a new thing. I am not sure what I am considered?
I hang around the nerds and the theatrical people back in the school days. I was a jock for years...
It does suck at times to be classified something when one feels that is not them. It is human nature and I feel it is shallow for someone to exile others just because of how they look. I notice many preppy people (see stereotyping here) do this. I have a big problem with snobs.
Someone who looks different intimidates. People want to hang around others who are like them. Most people search for others who will except them. Being different is good!
My opinion and everyone has one. Only thing these days that is truly free, but sometimes not excepted lol!
Have a great day!

steroetyping is sad sometimes, but a lot of times reflections of truths, half-truths or past truths. I am of hispanic decent. When i was a kid i was seen littering by my mom, and she scolded me for it, told me to go pick it up or people would assume i was a "Dirty mexican" I know i tend to hear that people from a certain race are loud. Than in college i see that same group hanging out being VERY loud. The fact is, some people perpetuate stereotypes, while others go against them. If you feel that you are stereotyped, and you dont like it, than dont be it. I know this is wrong, but i met a girl the other day, who was Philipino, i asked her what she was studying, she said nursing, i automatically thought "of course" I felt bad but its a stereo type.

I am going to say this and it is not meant to offend anyone because definitly not everyone fits stereotypes, but stereotypes actually come from reality. Stereotypes arent just made up things, they have been formed by real life over the years.
Now, there are good AND bad stereotypes and not everyone fits every stereotype, but if you start looking at some stereotypes you might actually fit into some.
Give it a try and have a good laugh.

I think it sucks big time! But what are you gonna do? People have labeling other people since forever! What I do is label myself. I tell people what they can call me and they better do it. Otherwise, I don't answer they're tired @sses. And just for the record, I personally like Goth and Punk.

i don't believe that! seem at gymnasium classification Heros! they're usually categorised as rock. no one sterotypes me for my music because i'm nevertheless youthful and typically, i do not seem as if I hearken to rock. yet yeah. i imagine sterotyping with music is faulty.

I was a punk in jr.high/high school and I got a lot of flack for it.
I don't agree with stereotyping, but then again, reality of life is that things will happen, people will do things that aren't right or fair.
Welcome to the real world!

We all have been guilty of sterotypical views and actions...until we were proven otherwise and gained knowledge and educated ourselves, and met other people.
