You will find out at the scan in few weeks... Is there a history of twins in the family?
You're so lucky! When I had my son, I did not show until the end of the seventh month -I was so proud of it and wanted the world to know, yet no-one could tell for seven mmonths. It was very frustrating for me, so I envy your showing so much so early.
I do hope all goes well for you both during pregnancy and birth!

It could be because you are carrying twins. Although at 6 weeks pregnant, even twins are only taking up a tiny amount of space. Equally, it could just be bloating. I got very bloated in early pregnancy, but then it went away and I only really started to show at about 20 weeks.
There is a difference between having a bigger waist and stomach, and the feeling of the baby pushing up. The baby is quite hard, you can feel the top and possibly the sides of the uterus. If it's bloating, it will feel softer.

That's a huge possibility...but also i'm 6 wks and look about 4-5 months and i know there's only one baby. But mine is not pregnancy, it's bloating. I am constantly bloated, if i drink water, soda, everything i eat bloats me up really bad, it hardly ever goes down. People have made comments to me that i look further along, but i'm not.
Also some women automatically bloat up when they get pregnant due to the hormones being released and it can be hard to distinguish the difference between the two.

I know the feeling! I'm 6 weeks pregnant with my third child and I look like I'm about 4 months. I reckon it's just bloating (I'm quite slim, definitely not over weight). Of course with both us we may be expecting twins but at the moment they are so tiny it wouldn't be the babies making us look big. Don't know about you but along with bloating, strong smells are a killer. Will be glad when my baby is born! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, I hope everything goes well for you.

If this is your second or more pregnancy, you will show sooner. It is possible you are having twins, but you usually don't show like 4 months ahead of what you are. Have you had any dramatic weight gain? It could be swelling (water weight) or bloating that is causing some of it. Check with your doctor just to be safe though. Good Luck!!

I started showing almost straight away with both my pregnancies and there was only 1 baby both times hun. On average people tend to start showing at around 5 months however there are exceptions (us).I wouldn't worry about it just show it off and be proud.

You may be carrying twins or just really bloated. I looked 3 months pregnant at 7 weeks because of all the bloating and water weight.

Could be more than one baby. Could be bloated from gas or your intestinal tract moving a little slower than usual. My stomach early on would poke out some days. I just had gas most of the time.

Totally possble its twins. However, in my case, it was a cyst.

It started out about the size of a tangerine and grew to the size of a cantaloupe. At 20 weeks I had to have emergncy surgery to remove it.

Your Dr will be able to tell you at your first appt if its bloating or if you need to have a sonogram to find out what it is.

Good luck!
