First number is A second number is B
percentage difference is (B/A-1)*100
So what is the percentage difference between 60 and 80
percentage difference is (80/60-1)*100= 33.33
This is the same as saying 80 is 33.33% more than 60.
Hopefully this is what you had in mind.

Finding the % between 2 numbers
The formula is:
Amount = base x percent
amound / base = percent.... use this formula
Let
90 = the amount
150 = the base
- - -- - -'
'
Find the percent
Divide 90 by 150
90/150 = 3/5
3/5 = 0.6
Multiply 100 times the decimal and attached the % sign
100 x 0.6 = 60 %
The answer is 60 %
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Find the base
Divide the amount by the decimal
90 / 0.6 = 150
The answer is the base is 150
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Find the amount
amount = base x percent
150 x 0.6 = 90
The answer is: the amounrt is 90

Depends - do you want it as a % of number A or number B?
For example, if the price of eggs goes from $2.00 to $2.20, the difference is $0.20 which is 10% of $2.00. So you will say the price of eggs went up by 10%.
But if next month, the price goes down again FROM $2.20 to $2.00, you will calculate the percentage wrt the "from" number, i.e. $0.20 / $2.20 * 100 = 9.1%. So a 10% increase followed by a 9.1% decrease means the price is back to what it was!

Divide. Divide the larger into the smaller to see percentage the smaller is of the larger and vise versa. Example. 2.48 divded by 2.75 is .9018 meaning 2.48 is about 90% of 2.75 and 2.75 divided by 2.48 is 1.10088 meaning 2.75 is about 110% of 2.48. An easy way for me to remember is using 1/2. divide 2 by 1 and you get .500 or 50% and reverse it and you get 2 or 200%. Can do this in your head. Convert fractions to decimals the same way. Change decimals to percentage move (. the dot) two places right.
