I'm married and I don't talk all that much, my wife and I have a friend that we only talk to on messenger, our friend, (she really likes me) thinks I should talk more because that is the only way she of getting to know me better. She says if I don't start talking more then she will stop talking as much. I'm not "not talking" just because it's her, I'm just a quiet man in general. My wife even wishes I would talk more. What do you think?

Don't use messenger anymore.
Log off and leave it alone.

No...Just be yourself.....I'm not a big talker either. At times I just sit quietly and listen. My husband is a big talker and I usually can't get a word in anyway. I'm more of a nodder than a talker. I'm listening probably more than anyone else....who's just thinking about what to say next! By the way.....I hate to talk on the phone too! I am more of a writer. I have a lot of thoughts and feelings that I like to share. I generally e-mail or send cards etc.

The key word is 'wife' and only she should have rules that affect you. The friend, might be just a tad bit too friendly and demanding. Whether you talk a lot or not a lot is between you and your wife. The only woman you should be talking MORE to is your 'wife'. Remember that KEY word.

Friends do NOT set rules.
Your wife might be hurt if she feels this woman is getting you to talk. She's probably giving you the space you need, which is very unique in a woman, by not making chit-chat and needlessly filling up silence.
Are you comfortable being that "woman's" friend? Do you even know she's a woman?

Just try to explain to her and you wife that you don't talk all that much, but make sure she knows it isn't her that is making you stop talking! If that dosen't work try talking to her for five minutes, when your wife dose she will feel better about you talking!

well to be quite honest with you you can help being a quiet person! its just ur personality! and you shouldn't let people tell you to change! especially if you've been that way your whole life! what i think you need to do is find people that except you for who you are! you might not like fast paced loud situations but more of a quiet laid back atomosphere, which in all means is fine, you just need to find people adn a place that will except you not try to change you.

as long as your husband is happy with it then i think it incredibly is okay. You do sound such as you're being slightly obsessive nevertheless and it could be a foul sign in case you will incredibly talk to him and proportion issues with him than your husband. yet as long because it maintains to be harmless then i think it incredibly is okay. yet whilst he calls once you're contained in the direction of something with your companion or relatives, it is going to probable upset them in case you pass off and have an hour long chat with some guy chum of yours. your marriage is maximum mandatory contained in the long-term, so ascertain you nurture it previously everyone else.

You are what you are and who you are...
You change if you want it not because others want it...
You will change when you are ready...

Your friend (girl), make sure you do not fall for her !! So, better keep quiet to save your marriage.

Talking is not going to hurt you. Follow what you think, but also think about your wife. Don't you want to please her. You have each other for the rest of forever.
