Do you want the "good mommy" answer, or the truth?

Of COURSE all parents favor one child over the other.
Think...Jacob and Esau
Joseph verses his 11 brothers
Rachel and Leah
From the beginning of time, all of God's children have bonded more with one child than the others.
Sometimes, it's unintentional...and natural. Certainly, if one of your kids is constantly clashing with you, most likely you will "favor" the sweet one more.
And what does favor mean exactly? Well, when you have favor with someone, they tend to give you special priveleges...Isn't this what sweet children generally experience?
By the way, favor is different than love.
God loves all His children, but shows special favor to those who seek Him

The personality of each child is different. A responsible parent would try to handle each child differently, according to their personalities, but the siblings may see this as favoring.

It takes a person looong looong years to overcome adolescence prejudices and see his/her parents for what they are. Hence the saying: You'll understand when you have children.

On the other hand, I have been favored by relatives and I can say it is cruel for the sibling.

I only have one child so she is favored above all people. I do like one child better than another, they are just small people after all. Some are more likable.

I assum you are talking about your own children....I used to, not necessarily favor, but think my son and I were closer because he wasn't the gadabout that my daughter was, so we spent more time together, but now, I never see my son and am living with my daughter so...go figure!!!1
