Either are excellent cars, but I'd go with a Porsche. It's not as exclusive as a Ferrari, but also not as expensive to buy or maintain. Porsche are not cheap cars, don't get me wrong, but the Ferrari (and Lamborghini) are very, very expensive to buy and maintain. Plus, your typical Porsche can be driven daily, most Ferrari cannot. Not as easily as a Porsche.

Granted that the cheapest Porsche, the Boxster, starts at around $40,000, a 911 at about $70,000 and a 911 Turbo at about $120,000, you won't see them like you see a Ford Mustang (except in very wealthy areas, EVERYONE has a Boxster!) But with Ferrari usually starting at $150,000 (probably closer to $200,000) the Porsche is more common and for me, makes more sense.

My "lottery car" has always been a 911 Turbo. If it were a really large jackpot, then I'd have the Porsche and a Ferrari. The Ferrari are beautiful cars, fast and make wonderful sounds.

Not to be rude or anything but what the hell is a posch? I say a Ferrari is better because of the looks, the power, and the speed. But there is a down side of a Ferrari, only rich people can own such cars, so start saving those bucks to get you're dream car.

Depends on what you are looking for.

For high technology and precise engineering in a mass production vehicle, no car actually comes close to a Porsche.

Ferraris move their racing engines to production form for road legal cars. They are typically large engines with low strokes to get very high RPMS. And the body shells are made as one-offs or limited production by hand beating metal, and baking carbon fibre. This is an inconsistent process, but the inconsistencies are hidden by all the leather and aluminium cladding. Ferrari buys all of the user driven subsystems from manufacturers in the OE market. That means the instrument cluster, air con, seats are taken from existing cars and customized for Ferrari.

If you like very low driving positions and extreme speeds the Ferrari is for you. The Porsche will give you a more refined experience.

Hand's down, Ferrari. Although i do have to admit, what the porsche doesn't have in raw power they sure make up for in the twisties up against Ferrari.
