Elvis was against drugs in general in fact he was made some kind of honorary DEA agent by Richard Nixon but he loved his prescription drugs you know "I don't do drugs the doctor gave them to me"attitude he was taking prescriptions for insomnia and diet pills a real up and down kind of thing

Elvis had a pill problem. From what I understand, it started when he was in the Army. His unit would go out on maneuvers and he and some others would take speed to stay awake.
That just snowballed, and pretty soon he was taking pills to get up, to maintain, then to come down.

I heard he had been using prescription drugs such as painkillers and anphetamines.He got them legally through a network of doctors.He abused them uncontrollably,using anphetamines to wake him up and keep him active and then using painkillers and tranquilizers to put him to sleep when he needed to sleep.This ritual being repeated most of his life.His body was extremely out of shape and his cholesterol and blood pressure very high,his body deteriorated with the chronic use of pills,cocaine and alcohol caused him to have heart failure at a young age,not sure how old exactly

He had several Rx's for pills to wake up, pills to go to sleep, pills to relax, pills for pain, - he lived on pills. With his schedule, he didn't sleep the hours like a normal man, plus he was wound up after a performance and either partyed or went to a movie - he rented the entire theatre back then....just for him and his close friends.

He had a cocaine and pill popping addiction problem ....now the rest of your questions I have the slightest idea it's not like I hung out with him or anything..but I would say he bought his own narcotics with his cash money he earned from his fame?
