Let's visualize for a minute. Let's visualize a world without computers. People in the medical field wouldn't have have found a lot of cures to diseases, since most cures were found with the help of computers. Movies like Jurassic Park, Toy Story, A Bug's Life or Godzilla would never have been made without computers because they used computer graphics and animation in them. Pharmacies would have a hard time keeping track with what medications to give to patience. Counting votes would be impossible without computers and most importantly, space exploration wouldn't be possible without the help of computers. It's a pretty tough life without computers. Some may not agree and say, "Well, we don't need computers to live on." They maybe right but mostly, they are wrong. Computers help in curing diseases, make entertainment a lot better, keep track of important records, etc. . . Without computers, all this wouldn't be possible.

In the past fifteen years or so, there have been immense changes that have come about through technologically. These remind one of the speed at which the human mind has been working; man has invented and innovated things so that they can serve their purposes more and more conveniently. This has resulted in the purpose for which things were made; computers for instance are modified so significantly that they are now in demand for various functions that may not have been perceived years ago.
Such is the case, considering the fact that there are numerous professions that now depend on computers. In addition, even non-professionals make use of computers, and reinforcing this is the fact that people now are able to make use of computers in their homes for entertainment as well as communication. The result of this is that even a home environment begins to take on a mechanized look.
In addition to the impact that computers have had in the homes of many, they have also impacted other parts of the society. Computers have also had an immense impact on education today, and it is expected to do a lot more for education in the future. With the facility of the Internet at their homes, many students have taken it into their stride to do more research and study harder so that they can be better at the fields they are studying in. Clearly, computers are them responsible for enhancement of knowledge (Education and Technology, 2004).
Few areas that might be affected with the advancement of educational technology include the role of a teacher, the type of students and a society that relies on the newer techniques of teaching (Education and Technology, 2004). Further, with the concept of online teaching becoming more and more popular, there are a growing number of people turning to this form of education (Yap, 2002). This is especially the case with higher education.
In the future, there is a lot of hope for students with learning disabilities, as there is so much software developed and available that one just needs to pick out the most suitable one and modify it to the needs. In view of what computers can do for education in this regard, it must also be considered that computer technology can also help healthcare through its contributions (What is Autism, 2002).
In addition to education and healthcare being greatly facilitated through computers and the internet, it must be remembered that business communications are also enhanced. However, there are also problems that come along with this. The problems that one faces with Internet transactions by and large have everything to do with the interference that one receives from files such as Internet cookies and hacking software, and these are the kinds of things that can damage the confidence with which consumers, retailers, etc. conduct day to day business using computer systems However, the world still remains enchanted with the way that business transactions are conducted through computer technology.

Huge impact...Do you remember the big power outage that the central/eastern part of Canada and the States had a number of years back? The computers were down too meaning that no one could use their debit cards. No one could get any business done with a bank teller because they could not process a loan or double check your chequing balance on the computer. Modern day cars have mini computers installed. Your taxes are processed by computer. The lists goes on and on...

I don't go to directory assistance anymore for phone #'s They costed 95 cents per time. Now I get everything online, plus a map.
I would think more people send e-cards and do less physical writing of letters (just a guess, no proof).
More creativity for me; cards, letters.
If you wonder about anything, you can just look it up on the web.
You can purchase things in your pj's.
