Pine cones covered in glitter is my kids favorite.
We also make the garland out of strips of construction paper, and garland out of popcorn and cranberries. Just be careful with the needle and poking it through.
Go to craft stores and get some of the plaster figures and some paints and paint little houses and stuff. Or get some clear ornaments and some ribbon and stuff the ornament with the ribbons. It's simple but it looks really pretty.

We went to Lowes and bought 3 tomato cages and wired the top into a point and wrapped whits lights around them and some with garland and lights. They are absolutely beautiful at night! The cages were 1.50- 2.00 dollars and we put 200 lights on the smaller ones and 400 on the larger. ALOT Cheaper and sturdier than the plastic ones you buy prelit. And the children love it. Also my friend put colored lights on hers, with silver & white garland. TO PRETTY

I made some BANNERS based on Traditional Christmas cards and wrapping paper. I think imagery on cards for holidays create an impression that makes a unique memory.

You can visit the blog and follow the links to your high-res full 1000x300 banners for printing your own gift cards, wrapping papers and sending virtual memories online.

Just leave a 'hello' at FLICkr or blog comment...and share the link with other people by email and tell them to say 'happy holidays.'

SOme great mp3 to listen while you choose.

There is always a string of popcorn.

Home made snowflakes.

Pictures of Santa, and reindeer, and xmas trees.

Streemers made from colored paper.

Get a thing of ribbon and some scissors and curl the ribbon (red and green)

Wrap small, empty boxes in xmas wrapping.

There is a lot you can do.
