Yes, i've given gifts to my boss before. Last year I gave him a nice tie and the year before I gave him a gift card. A gas gift card is always universal and something that can definitely be used by anyone.

You may get more helpful & useful anwers if you stated the your bosses' gender. I didn't know which to suggest male or female gifts.

Happy Holidays!

Depending on what company you work for is it unethical for a boss or supervisor to accept gifts from their employees.

You can try something informal, a card with some homemade cookies but generally nothing over $15-$20 would be allowed in most work places.

LW,

Good for anyone!

I actually am stealing this idea from someone else because it was so good. Someone suggested these in another question so I bought a bunch and they worked out so well. Everyone I have given these to loves them. They are inexpensive but don't look like it. Already I have bought 15 packs for a few gift exchanges I had to do and the rest I have given to neighbors, colleagues and friends. They love these and they are quite universal and useful for anyone. I will probably get more.

Look at their link and tell me what you think

I hope this helps

I always give managmenet presents, but generally just either a bottle of wine, or some cookies on a nice holiday themed platter. Both are very easy, and nicely priced, but let them know I appreciate what they do during the year.

i see no need to give "the boss" a gift i was a supervisor for many years and the gifts made me uncomfortable! a nice card will do and an offer to donate to his or her favoriate charity would be a nice gesture.

I usually do exspecially if working for small business which is more personable. exspecially if a x-mas bonus is involved. Hate to sound greedy, but inexspensive like a cookie gift tin or hickory farms so that the whole office could enjoy then its not brownosing exspecially to others.

What about a gift card to a coffee shop?
Or a nice box of chocolates? Who doesn't like chocolate?

I WOULD SAY A GIFT CARD TO A RESTURANT THAT YOUR BOSS LIKES-OR EVEN FOR A WOMAN MAYBE A NICE PLANTER FOR THE OFFICE. YOU COULD EVEN DO SOME HOMEMADE COOKIES.

My previous boss would have gotten a dose of cyanide if it had been up to me!
