Do you wear stockings with gowns and sandals at a formal party?

I wouldnt. It looks tacky to wear stockings with an open-toed shoe, becasue the seam at the toe or the stocking wil show., plus if you are wearing a floor length gown, no one will see your legs anyway.

Anyone who goes to a formal party with their bare toes and legs is just plain tacky. Stockings are a very high end item item meant for things like formal parties and events. If you buy good stockings or pantyhose they are so sheer they enhance the look of your legs, and make the shoes look better. It is really tacky that in this country people got in the habit of going around with bare legs and exposed toes. Toes are the ugliest part of any woman's anatomy, so why would you want to sport them. I pedicure every week, and have been a leg and foot model, but believe me, toes are no women's strong point. Be mature and glamorous, wear hosiery!

You could, but be aware that nude is really the only color you should wear (if you have dark skin, then pick one that blends with your skin tone), and be sure that you buy "sandal foot" hose, which have a very small seam at the toes.

A better and more comfortable option is to get either a spray-tan done or spend a couple session in a booth, then put on baby oil or another lotion that will add a slight shine to your legs. With the tan and the sexy shimmering legs, you'll knock 'em dead.

They make them footless, Spanx is a good brand, or you could always go the inexpensive route, and just cut the feet out of a pair of control top hose. They do sometimes "roll" up on you, so it's better to buy the ones that have the band at the bottom to avoid that. If you are talking about color for your legs, they also sell hose where the toes are like flip flops, a band that goes between your big toe and second, leaving all others open. I would do the fake tan on your legs though, and do the footless hose thing!

That depends. If it is a floor lengt gown and I am in closed toe shoes. I often wear stockings and a garter belt. But that is because I like the feel and the look. So do my significant other.

If I was wearing open toes shoes. No way would I wear stockings. Just shave and have those legs look smooth and sexy.

I would not wear a gown them with sandals, but if you do decide not to wear stockings make sure you get a nice pedicure. If you are in an area with cold weather, there are protective creams you can use to help keep your feet warm.

You would look sloppy and tacky if you didn't. Why spend the time and money to dress up, and end up looking like a call girl or someone that couldn't afford to finish off the outfit. That's what bare legs and dressy clothes look like, an incomplete outfit, or a call girl at a ball.

No I wear Nylons....There's a difference you know. Nylons are more sheer whereas stockings are thicker and you usually can't see your skin through them.
