And if you are talking about the scrub suits the doctors and nurses wear, the traditional green color was chosen because it is ugly and hopefully would keep them from, ah, walking away.
Now, of course, there are many colors and the thoughtful "theft by conversion" warning.

Well... laugh if you want.. but there were studies made on this and it was determined that GREEN was a nature color.... Fresh, Cool, Growth, Abundance, Environment, Health, Good Luck, Renewal, Youth, Vigor, Spring, Generosity, Fertility, Jealousy, Inexperience, Envy, Misfortune.
Its cool quality soothes, calms, and has great healing powers. It is often worn in operating rooms by surgeons. It gives the pleasant effect on mind. :: In France studies have indicated green is not a good color choice for packaging either(by the way.. when I lived in France, I was going to try to buy a GREEN colorerd vehicle and the French screamed saying that green is not used in vehicles and .... right.. very very few green cars in France).... :: In Ireland green has religious significance (Catholic). :: In some tropical countries green is associated with danger

They tend to use green as it is not so harsh on the eye and tends to blend in well.
If you are coming round from sleep and have a brigt light in your face, it makes it uncomfortable and takes a while to focus. If you are coming round from an operation and saw bright pink or red, again it could have side affects n you. So green was chosen as clinical and comfortable

If you are talking about the gown the patient is wearing, It is because they strip your butt naked after you are asleep and the gown is easily removed.
