Can anyone solve a little dispute. years and years ago on English tv was a childrens show called Sooty & Sweep. I know there was sooty, and sweep naturally, and there was Sue a wee lil panda bear and there was butch the dog.... but can anyone tell me the name of the slug character or even if there was one, i don't remember it but a guy at work says there was one.... we have a tenner and a cup of tea waged on this. thanks

There was a snake named Ramsbottom, but I'm not sure about a slug.

The Sooty and Sweep series has been cancelled and remade serveral times over. The original "The Sooty Show" began in the 60s, then was cancelled, then ran from '76 until '92. Then, in '93 there was "Sooty and Co." and in '98 there was "Sooty Heights" in which they introduced a cat from Brazil named Miki. There was even a cartoon series, "Sooty's Amazing Adventures." I do remember Sooty's girlfriend, Sue the Panda and I remember Kipper the cat, Cousin Scampy the bear, Butch the dog, the Three Singing Mice and Ramsbottom the snake. I don't recall anything about a slug, but it is possible during the many years it was one there was one at one time. But, it defintely wasn't a main character.
