The 4.3 V6 does (since 1994) but the V8s were not Vortec untill 1996

The only way yours would have a vortec engine is if it's the 4.3 V6. My dad's '94 has one of these. Otherwise, the 305 and 350 weren't made into vortecs until the '96 model year. The heads and manifold are completely different where they bolt together. If you look at it, the manifold goes straight across the top of the head, where as all the earlier engine had the manifold bolting to the head at an angle, and the ports were perpendicular to the deck.

The vortec 5.7 was used in 96 , 97 & 98 in the standard pick ups. It was used until 2005 in the hd trucks. Most people confuse the center bolt valve cover heads for vortecs
All the 5.7 vortecs had center bolt valve covers.
All the heads with center bolt valve covers were NOT vortecs

maximum in all possibility the Z71 stickers were extra. i'm particular they in no way made a v-6 z71. z71 replaced into an off highway kit which includes skid plates if no skid plates no z71 if it has them then seem on the rearend assy all z71 fashions had a 14 bolt rear cover, i'm having a gamble yours will be a 10 bolt. some brake and suspension products also decision(heavier duty). i imagine you're good on even with the reality that you've a standard pickup no longer a z71.

I had a 92 Silverado. It has a vortec engine. Yours probably does too.

No, it should still be tbi.- no roller cam, unless it's a 4.3 then it will have a roller. In 95 the cpi vortecs were in astro vans and s10's only
