The first game I played was FF9 which makes me like final fantasy. But when it comes to graphics and game-play, My favorite is the latest Final Fantasy XII. The game-play used here are in real time game-play(unlike the turnbase game-play like the previous game). I also like Dirge of Cerebus because of the unique game-play used here. I can't wait for Final Fantasy XIII(English verison) to be release.

Like you might have expected. What I think is the best is Final Fantasy 7. It is what everyone Final Fantasy should be. The characters are unique and the game play is great. You will see other people saying the newer Final Fantasy games are better...that is not the case. The new Final Fantasy games have better graphics and "newer" battle system. So what... What makes a great game is unique character and a awesome story line. I have played every Final Fantasy up date and Final Fantasy 7 is the best. The graphics may not be as good but graphics do not make a game the story line does. It seems over time Final Fantasy games have got better graphics but at the cost of a great story line.

I know we're gonna get A LOT of Final Fantasy 7 answers on this one, but for me, Final Fantasy 9 was the best. The characters were mor "fantasy" like and the battle system was much better. You had your magic users, and you had your attackers...the story line wasn't as good as FF7 but I think with the visuals and the battle system, it was just a little better

u have reached into my realem,i am the craziest final fantasy fan in the planet earth,my love to this game is beyond imagination,i have even put up a script or a story line for a new final fantasy game,my favorite final fantasy game is ff 8,the story line is great,it contains a story line of an epic love,a heroic story of love sacrifice and a journey to the depth of human soul,where we conquer our inner demons to conquer the outer demons.i love all final fantasy series from the first till the newest one.every final game has its own story,its own dream,and a constant proof that this game will never stop to amaze us,final fantasy will always continue to amaze us as there r dreams and hope in humanity.good luck to u all out there in the world.

For me it's FF X. It has by far the best battle system out of any I've played. Fairly decent storyline and awesome graphics. If I remember right it was one of the first games to use voice acting outside of cutscenes, or maybe at all.
note:have yet to play 7 or 12.

the best for me is the final fantasy IX. The characters are cool and the gameplay isnt so serious. (referring to FF8, though its also good)... I dont include FF X and XI to my comments because i havent played them yet...
