in music vids nowadays, girls are wearing almost nothing. tiny miniskirts that flap up when they shake their booty to reveal thongs or panties beneath, also low cut tops with their boobs almost pouring out. my question is, if 'sexx sells' in the music industry now, why don't they just go off and make porn, coz lets face it, the likes of beyonce and jello...sorry, j-lo can't sing anyways.

There actually are videos without girls wearing stuff like that, but you have to listen to the right stuff. Try Paramore. They have two videos where the lead singer [Hailey] actually wears clothes. They're rather new, though, so actually finding their videos might be hard unless you go to www.youtube.com

Beyonce actually has a very beautiful voice. Though, I've never liked J-Lo. I've never really liked either of them, actually, because that's not my type of music.

Well, that's a very complicated social question, really. And one with likely several facets. Firstly, the idea of girls having to look 'lady-like' all the time is an old-fashioned idea, and so pressure there is obviously less. In winter, 'feminine' clothing will be colder, and so wearing over clothing will often be warmer. Also, there is a lot of insecurity among women in modern society, fueled by many of the popular magazines; they tell people they have to look how the models do, how to diet to look that way, how to tan the same way... They make claims of 'cellulite' and other such 'terrible' things. Wearing less feminine clothing covers up more, and so they have less to worry about in public. Feminism has obviously also driven the industry of female clothing to drop the focus on displaying as much as possible, to avoid displaying women as objects. Finally, I would also guess that shaving legs every day can get a bit of a chore, and no legs on show probably makes it a lot less of a concern if they don't. =P Girls will often 'dress-up' when they go out, and where a lot more 'feminine' clothing, still. I Totally agree but I think that porn is way out there and most and I did say most have limits. But I really think that our singers today and upcoming need to make a change on how were present our women.

i agree...it keeps getting tougher and tougher for designers lik moi to keep using lesser and lesser coth for the designs!!!!! u run out of inspiration...ill probably have to run around looking at ants for inspiration by the time im out of high school!!!!! lol

well that have to have some clothes on, kids mostly young teenagers look up to their fav artist. look at the teenage pregnancy rate in your town/state/province where ever you live i bet its high..
