A small percentage of babies are born on their due dates. A couple doctors at the clinic I went to started giving out "due weeks" rather than days because most women go within the week of their due date and it helps to plan ahead that way.
p.s. my daughter was born exactly a month early.

I went in on my scheduled appointment was at a 4 cm since two weeks was miserable so the dr sweeped my membranes and that got labor progressing. My water broke and I was at the hospital at 7cm . They noticed when she checked me that it was tinged so along with the catherer i had a tube runnning inside me pushing amniotic fluid in me to flush the bowel movement my daughter had under stress. She was stuck so they had to pull her through cause she was face up instead of face down. Her shoulders wasn't turning right because of that to come through the birth canal. They had to hurry up and get her out her heart rate was dropping. I went in to have her at 5pm that day and delievered her 10:13pm that night two hours shy of her due date. I only labored 5 hrs and 13 mins and pushed for 30 mins this was my first baby. She was due on September 30 and was born Sept 29 two hours shy of her due date. Even my dr was mad that I had such a short labor guess exercise does help.

statistically only about 10% of babies are born on their exact due date. It really should be called a due week. More babies are born within a week of their due date then on the day

It's very possible. But your due date is just an estimate. You can have a baby anytime around your due date. It all depends on the baby.

I was induced with my son on my due date and had him that day.
I was in labor, but my contractions were not strong enough to dialate me any further than 3cm so thats why they did it.
I had my daughter 8 days before I was due.

#1 was born 9 days early
#2 was born 5 days early

All three were spontaniously occuring labors.
