i wanted to know if these are ok are they free to use, can you phone land lines oe mobiles
or would i be better using say tesco or another maker.. thanks

Skype itself is fine. You get dodgy connections sometimes; you have to accept that. Having a good headset helps.

Phoning landlines (international or whatever) with Skype is excellent value.

There's only one mobile that I regularly skype, and the signal on that is very poor, usually.

Skype as a program is useful and well thought out, and very non-intrusive, unlike MSN and Yahoo IM. Skype has never crashed or even slowed down my machine.

I agree with the earlier post-skype is fantastic. I just bought £10 worth of skype out credit, and i got FREE calls to land lines for 6 months! Texts are also very cheap costing around 5p per message. The call quality to other computers and land lines within the uk is brilliant, but there can be delay when calling computers or land lines in other countrys. I would highly reccomend it!

It's free if call to pc, like msn. But to call to landline/cell phone is not cheap compare with other voip services.
