you could appeal to the director of their department, go to the dean of the school, talk to other professors.

First, you should talk to the professor however, maybe there is another reason...like you really failed.

It's actually illegal for a professor to fail a student based on non-Academic issues. There was actually a Supreme Court case on a high school student who was failed because of personal reasons, and the Supreme Court said that was illegal.
However, if you took the exam in an unapproved testing site, then yes, the professor can fail you.

Find two or three more students who are willing to share their grades and tests with you. If he took points off of your test for things that he didn't mark off on for others, you have a very good case to go to the head of the department or Dean. When I was in college (yes, in the dark ages), had an accounting teacher who was very anti-female. He gave one brilliant young woman an F on her tests by taking off for her numbers touching the lines. Fortunately, a couple of guys that she had tutored were so upset that they went with her to the school officials and showed this guy up for the unacceptable subhuman that he was.

Have to ask though - Did other students have the option of taking the test away from him or did he indicate that you taking the test elsewhere was not acceptable before you did it? Some teachers assume cheating if the test wasn't done in their presence. You can challenge that by showing your answers were correct and that as far as you knew so was your choice of where to take the test. Have a witness with you if you are going to talk to him about this one on one.

Just ask the man...especially if you feeled that he has reached an error. ANother way is if you keep everything average your own grade. Grab your sylubus and see how much everything is worth and go about it like that. Or if you know that you did good on your quiz, test, and in-class assignments and you have a bad grade show him proof.
