You need a common denominator, in this case, 6, so change all that by multiplying the first term by 3/3 and the second term by 2/2:

[3(7x-5)/3*2] - [(2*4)(5x+2)]/(2*3)

=[(21x - 15)/6] - 8(5x+2)/6

=[(21x - 15)/6] - (40x + 16)/6

=(21x - 15 - 40x - 16)/6

=(-19x -31)/6 (you wouldn't actually have the brackets in your written answer, just -19x - 31 over 6.)

I don't know where people are getting the idea they can solve x when there is no equal sign in your question!

(7x-5)/2 - 4(5x+2)/3
= 7x/2 - 5/2 -20x/3 - 8/3
= 7x/2 - 20x/3 -5/2 -8/3
=( 21x-40x)/6 - (15+16)/6
= -19x/6-31/6
= -(19x+31)/6
