i would say "turning the other cheek", "biting my tongue" at my work, when i faced blatant racism, both from my peers and some supervisors,,,,,,, hanging in there,,,,,not walking away from the job,, yes part of this was based on wanting income, but part of it was to stand up for myself and other white women on my job, so now my workplace has more diversity,,,, and after two years, no one much bothers me anymore,,, sure i wont get promoted, but i get raises, so im happy
ps: it had personal benefits also, i went from a milder person to a "mess with me i WILL get in your face " lol
