Sometimes. I'm afraid I'll usually take the path of least resistance. But once in a while I push myself to do what's hard either because it's what's right or because I know it's better for me to grow as a person. It's scary though to leave your comfort zone, to take a risk. This past year I've taken a lot of risks, it's usually turned out for the best and been very rewarding. Sometimes though, when I'm really stressed out and things don't always go as planned & there are new challenges I hadn't banked on, I look wistfully back at the days when I wasn't as happy but more content. When I had fewer worries & responsibilities. When life was safe & easy...it's a tradeoff I guess.

No, certainly not always or anywhere near it. I have this compulsion (conscience) to do what I perceive to be the right thing no matter how hard or costly it may be for me. But, if I find I'm hitting my head against a brick wall, I stop. That may be interpreted by someone as my giving up or losing interest but I am merely waiting for my head to recover and I'm most likely using the time to walk around the wall.
At the end of the day I'm the only person I have to live with and I prefer to sleep easy and wake on good terms with said conscience.

I try not to take the easy way out. I have found the easy way is also less fulfilling. Challenges force me to think of creative solutions and that keeps me constantly moving forward. That does not mean I work hard. I work smart and that leaves more time for my next challenge. Easy and difficult are relative - what I perceive as being easy may be difficult to others and vice versa. So, I have learned not to compare...just keep moving on.

no- as i prefer to do it the hard way. i like challenges, i want to be challenged and i'd rather do that in the not-so simple way. besides, just because you choose to opt for the easy way, doesn't neccessarily mean it is challenging. far from it, it can often turn out to be unadventuous and dull.

After seeing the movie "Himalaya" where one character is advised by a Buddhist monk, "When you have two paths, always take the harder one." That's what I've been doing. Not always, but frequently.

No not in the least...
For instance doctors told my mother I would be disabled and would not be able to work. I proved them wrong with a good 20 years of work under my belt. I am very proud of this fact!

Nothing is easy. Usually everything is simple. With required skill, involvement & focused mind, it may seem easy to us or even onlookers.
