I played a show and in the middle of it, some guy went on stage... We had to stop and get him off the stage, but when we did, the crowd started booing us... I'm all, "dude? What's going on???" The drummer just shrugged. I could hear people in the audience screaming stuff like, "YOU SUCK" and "GO HOME" I didn't know what to do... I called the haters over saying "YOU COME UP HERE AND PLAY YOU F*CKIN B****ES." They had no reply. I just flipped them off and jumped off the stage. I wish I could have done something better to calm the crowd and finish the song.
So when you're getting booed off the stage, what do you do?

Idiots like that want a reaction and the best thing is to ignore them. Don't lower yourself to their level, remain professional.

Yes! In 1970, I went to a concert that featured Grand Funk Railroad as the main act. The act before them, The Allman Brothers Band (which is the reason I went) absolutely blew everyone away in the audience. This was with the late, great Duane Allman on guitar. They did two encores and had to leave to make way for Grand Funk. The Allmans were a tough act to follow and Grand Funk never got over the initial boos when they took the stage. In all fairness, it was probably a bad decision by the promoters, as the Allmans should have been a main act by then. But, Grand Funk was disjointed, the sound was poorly mixed and the echo of the stadium did no justice to their already weak vocals. They finished their act, but most of the crowd (including me) had left long before that. It was pretty sad.

They really probably did this to antagonize you. It was probably just a prank or a practical joke. They probably had too much too drink or just felt like being in a punky attitude. You probably should have called for store security. Or, you could have just walked off stage rather than continue to endure the situation. Certainly, staying there served as validation and allowed others in the audience not part of this to think that maybe you really are bad. The result is an even worse reputation. Next time, I would just walk off as soon as it happens. Let the rest of the audience blame it on the hecklers. Meanwhile, I would get some practice before a small group and ask for their advice about improving. Ask what they think of your show.........

You keep on playing, even when the Titanic sank the band kept playing till the bitter end, of course, their song was, Nearer My God to Thee.
Getting Booed has always been around, just yesterday in the news you probably read where the tenor doing the Opera AIDA, was booed, first act they loved him, second act they booed him, he walked off the stage, I don't know whether the publicity hurt or helped him, (it got his name in the news.)
Barbara Streisand few months ago had many hecklers, but she kept on doing her President Bush skit, she said that was part of the show and she wasn't taking it out.
You are always going to have those few people who want nothing more than to stir up trouble, but you have to think of the people who took the time to come and see and hear you.
People who heckle are not worth the time, get used to them, if you want to continue playing, just play louder.

Same thing happens when you answer a question sometimes, don't take it to heart, you should ignore the losers and continue on playing for the people who enjoy your music, let your fans deal with the losers. play louder and better go into overdrive and turn the booing into cheering.

I wouldn't worry mate, it happens to even the "famous performers/artists! Sometimes there'll just be a bad crowd.
Just put it behind you mate, and look forward to the next performance! They are probably just jealous that they are not up on the stage performing like you are ;)
