I was writing a paper and just wondering if anyone out there has some info on the characteristics of a Shakespearian tragic hero, and how Othello fits that mold.

Try Harvard, Oxford, and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill's websites. They all have excellent English departments and you should be able to find some information on the subjects.

A tragic hero is someone who brings about their own demise through a fatal flaw in their personality. Many tragic heroes have multiple fatal flaws, and Othello is no exception. I interpret them as blindness, temper, and jealousy.
