That was Ian Fleming, who also wrote the children's book "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". Interesting.

Yes I agree with the first one it was Ian Fleming a shy man who working in the government services (not sure which one but certainly not a glamourous one), himself during the war. I think he started writing the books in the late 40's or early 50's.
