How about making a memory book/scrapbook for her. You can put alot of pictures of her grand-child in it and add pictures of the erst of the family. You could even add some pictures from when she was younger, if you have any. Include favorite recipes and memorable stories. You could add some historical references like how much a gallon of gas cost when she was born versus how much it costs today. You can decorate your pages with stickers, stamps, stencils, and other embellishments. Write your stories or captions of whatever with markers, colored pencils and crayons. You can find relatively inexpensive albums and scrap-booking supplies at your local Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart and Big Lots stores. You can also find specialty items at your local Michael's Arts & Crafts store or any scrapbooking stores that may be in your area. Maybe the album will give her something to look at when you all aren't visiting. It will also show her how much you care for her because you will have taken the time and made the effort to give her something you handmade. Hope this helps!

A framed picture of you with your hubby...priceless since she'll practically be forced to put it up in her home. Make sure you're wearing something she wouldn't approve of.

A self-help book (preferably one about getting along well with others), a nice set of candles (in an icky scent), or something completely random, like a pool cue, or some inexpensive makeup.

1--Don't give her the satifaction of runing your home and coming in and taking over when she is INVITED to come over, not when she WANTS to come over whenever she feels like it.
2--If you are married to a mommies boy send him back to live with her.
3--Also she has to abide by YOUR home rules if her son is not man enough to stand up to her when she does come over AFTER being invited
