I know about Skype. But your question isn't very specific. You can download it free off the Internet. You simply need to buy a $15 microphone to use it. And the person you want to contact has to have it also. You can talk all over the world for free. Yes it is true. I use it at our office.

The hardware skype phone is still very expensive and not worth it compare the quality.

my uncle has one. it's very odd. little phone, looks like a mobile/cell, and wherever there's wi-fi you can get the same service as you do via pc/laptop. so basically free calls around the world i think. to be honest don't really understand it, but i saw it working on sunday. if that's what you're asking?
