Hey you!
Not only do mall Santa's worry me, ALL Santa's worry me. In one way or another I just feel like it is a money making plot to commercialize a day set aside for a very Sacred occasion and a distraction off of the true meaning of the whole reason we celebrate Christmas to begin with. You are definitely on the right track when you say it is odd to have a line of children waiting to sit on this strange man's lap that you don't even half the times know and half the times you can't even trust the ones you do know. It is one thing to pretend and play make believe, it is something totally different to take a day that has been set aside for a possible God or Son of God and make a mockery of it with a lie and have that lie be more acceptable than the original meaning. If Jesus is real and I believe by faith that He is, then His day (whether the right day or a set aside day) should be His day. Santa should have his own holiday, I mean technically, he would definitely have a large following. Non- Christians and Christians alike. Think about that!
Thank you for your wonderful question and thanks for having some common sense!

To be honest with you, we know a man that plays Santa and he's really a very sweet person. He's been playing Santa for years. He's just a very sweet old man who loves kids so that's how imagine all Santa's to be.

No, I think it's cute and nice for kids. If I had kids, they'd be going to see Santa. :)
