Will this improve society as a whole?

Its not compulsory, but i think, yes, everyone should work in the public for some days. In these days, they get to know the people and their joys, difficulties and stuff like that. And this may help them to know their country more than just flattery and brings them closer to their nation. And of course, any public service helps the public.... :-)

I think people should work or volunteer in the public sector for certainly more than one month. Dont' know if it would improve society, but the perwon working might learn lessons in how not to behave.

i have only worked in the public sector my whole life. Why do you think us who work in the public sector are better then anyone else. How about NGO's, NPO's they in their title are public companies but often can do more good then the goverment because there is less red tape

i think we all should do community service. it would improve society. and the standard of living would rise for us all.

everyone should serve some time in the military once they turn 18. Maybe we wouldn't have so many problems then.
