I think I understand what you mean. I don't come from a Western country either and our country is westernising at a high speed. Its getting more and more uncomfortable to live, there is less time, people are really stressed out, crime rates are rising. We have all the material things now that we had yearned for so many years. But the thing is that material possessions can make you happy only for a short while. And then you'll start yearning for something new and better. I guess the answer for your question is: it will stop when the majority of people realise that wealth is not the answer - spirituality is.

Dear Friend, first of all do not differentiate between the east or west. The problems is not there. U can see some of our friends have already answered this question by sying that it is only the matter of convinience. Our elders in the east were not able to explain conflicting questions asked by the youth. They just said Shut up u are just a Kid !! these questions have found easy answers from the new culture in the west. The point is who ever answers you question first ! becomes ur Guru. In this case it is the west. U very well know how difficult it is to carry an unanswered question. Ex. did you know why boys were not allowed to talk to girls in our country. The correct answer is still not known. But the west has the answer, it says nothing wrong just go ahead and talk like friends. Like this many questions get answers and life will go on. Now there are many such answers the Westerners are getting from the east on philosophy and Spiritualism. We this Q&A across the world stabilises then there will be no desire for Questions like this.

Only two situations.... A matching prosperity or the drop in the need to look at west out of a higher priority surging within... to evolve into a spiritual being.

it all depends upon individuals. Gone are the days when people were crazy to go abroad for better lively hood. Now a days it is better to stay in your country ( in my case india ) even if your earning 1/3rd of what u could have earned in west ( by converting dollars to rupees ). At least you will not be subjected to racial discrimination and racial crime as it is getting prevalent in so called educated west.

westerners are inferior to us in seveal areas, but leaders in exploiting countries like India and to become rich. The British regime in India made us to look them with admiration. It was also due to long-regime of Nehru and his idology and rejection of Gandhi's philosophy in practice. Time will come when west proves to be not healer but cause to sickness.

don't find our culture better & good.

and i must say,
there is nothing wrong in accepting
good things from West ,
but without ignoring our culture.
